Engaging tourism partners for long-term destination development and stewardship

Opportunity

Backed by a 10-year strategic plan, a mature destination is tackling a number of themes that challenge its continued success. A council of 30 representatives from across government, related sectors and the tourism industry are tasked to implement long-term actions related to: overcoming capacity constraints, elevating the visitor experience, engaging communities, building partnerships and collaboration, fostering business responsibility, sustainability and resilience. In addition to long-term actions, the council have also mobilized to prioritize economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
