A non profit partnership was faced with a barrage of opposition for its 5-year plan. Community members mobilized to spread misinformation about the organization and create roadblocks for it to move forward. Its leaders were on the defensive when the community was engaged and conversations were focused on myth-busting.

  • Outlined target audiences with ideas on how to shape messages for each one
  • Developed key messages and proof points to help shift the dialogue

Impact

The Executive Director is equipped with a detailed plan on how to shift communications and improve engagement with stakeholders. Tactics are outlined with a step-by-step approach to build proficiency and bring on new tools at a pace that aligns with the organization’s capacity.  The plan will help onboard and align board members while encouraging a consistent approach to communicating and engaging with stakeholders. A new format for its annual open house was introduced to deepen connection with stakeholders and shift understanding about the benefits of the community forest model.
